I'll overwhelm 'serious combatant' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight round match which will be shown live on the streaming platform.

British boxer Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "defeat" his opponent as the combatants met personally to build hype for the upcoming bout.

Ex twice unified heavyweight champion Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, theoretically, a mammoth mismatch - at Miami's Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Fighter's Mentality

"I plan to injure his face and damage his physique. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35, said.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.

"I intend to seriously aim to cause him pain. That's my intention."

Respectful Exchange

In spite of these statements, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - typically recognized for his theatrics - were respectful and remained civil with each other.

Jake Paul instead criticized ex Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and labeled him "ridiculous" after Ngannou turned down a bout proposal.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at UK opponent Fury - and refused a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a Paul win.

"[Paul] is superior to Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua commented.

"I give him credit for that."

Legitimate Opponent

Despite stating he plans to hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua refused to comment unfavorably about his rival's fighting skills.

"Jake is a serious fighter," he said.

Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mainly fought MMA fighters or faded names since becoming pro.

He was defeated by Briton Fury in 2023.

Commercial Attraction

Nevertheless, the relative newcomer continues to be one of the sport's biggest money-making draws, frequently receiving substantial paydays.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28-year-old predicted a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and asserted he would derail the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly being planned for two years from now.

"It will be my match with Fury next year," Paul said.

Physical Difference

As both boxers engaged in the customary confrontation, with their physical disparity evident, it drove home just how surprising this complete situation is - and how astonishing it is that the match is really going ahead.
